Due to circumstances out of both Lancaster Jazz Festival and The Dukes control, we have been forced to amend the line-up for our headline performance at Lancaster Jazz Festival 2015 on Saturday 19th September at 7.30pm.
Empirical will now feature Julian Siegel, described as a “world class saxophonist” by Jazz UK, on tenor saxophone, in place of Nathaniel Facey. Siegel has worked with Empirical before, both producing their fourth album and touring in place of Nathaniel when he broke his hand.
Chris Montague will complete the all star lineup as replacement for Vibraphonist, Lewis Wright. Chris is the startlingly creative guitarist in Troyka,“King Crimson for the iPod generation” (Time Out), who played a stunning set at The Hothouse in Morecambe earlier in the year.
Empirical feat. Julian Siegel will take place at The Rake Theatre in The Dukes on Saturday 19th September at 7.30pm.
“Obviously it is a great shame that Empirical cannot appear at Lancaster Jazz Festival in their regular line-up, especially considering all the work and enthusiasm that has gone into putting on the performance from the festival team and our members. However, to be able to bring internationally renowned Julian Siegel to Lancaster is a fantastic coup and I’m sure it will be a phenomenal performance, especially in the beautiful theatre that is The Rake.” – Matt Robinson, Festival Director
