Volunteers are essential to the safe running of Lancaster Jazz Festival - we really can't run it without them.
Behind the scenes during LJF it's a mad three days of running around, meeting people, troubleshooting and caffeine with the entire Festival Team mucking in from dawn to well into the early hours. The wonderful volunteers are the people that make the festival what it is, make it actually happen, and make sure that artists and audiences feel comfortable and safe, and that everything is running smoothly.
We need volunteers to help with audience managements, to meet and greet artists, to help sell merchandise, to support our tech crews, to stop the Festival Team falling asleep, to actually run festival stages and a million other things. There's no limit to how much or how little time you can volunteer and it doesn't matter if you have loads of experience or none at all.
We'll make sure there's breaks and cups of tea, loads of great music and we'll make sure no-one gets stuck on car park duty from more than an hour without loads of cake.
If you want to get your hands dirty at Lancaster Jazz Festival 2016 please fill in the form below and we'll get in touch. On behalf of the entire festival team a massive thank you! - Matt Robinson, artistic director
HOST AN ARTIST
Lancaster Jazz Festival employs nearly 50 non-local artists and freelancers for the Festival week who all require beds to sleep in. As much as we'd like to, Lancaster Jazz Festival simply doesn't have the budget to cover this level of hotel expense (we also don't want to take up all of the hotel rooms in Lancaster, we want to leave some available for audience).
Following a very successful trial in 2015 with excellent feedback from both hosts and artists, we're looking to expand our Host an Artist scheme - where members and audience with a spare bed or comfy sofa in the vicinity of Lancaster can offer to house an artist for the night, or weekend, or week.
If you have a spare bed in Lancaster between the 12th - 19th September and would be interested in helping us out please email us here and we'll get in touch.
