Tom Ridout Quintet

Sat 14 / 3pm / Sun Square
Tom Ridout saxophones, recorder / Billy Marrows guitar / Will Barry piano / Flo Moore bass / Rod Oughton drums

The Tom Ridout Quintet plays mostly original music with the occasional detour into interesting arrangements of well known folk/Beatles tunes. The sound of the band is as varied as the musicians in it - settling somewhere around a modern jazz meets rock/folk. Influences come from as far and wide as Wayne Shorter and Joni Mitchell to Led Zeppelin and Kenny Wheeler, John Scofield, English Folk and beyond! This project is Tom’s main creative voice as a writer and as a player and representative of him as an artist and musician.
