Lancaster Jazz Festival All-dayer line up announcement!

It’s been a long wait, but we’re so excited for our return to live music at our Lancaster Jazz Festival All-Dayer at Kanteena on 11th September. One month today we’ll be joined by a whole host of brilliant artists, headlined by multi-instrumentalist Arun Ghosh and his Quartet. Check out the full programme below and join us for a great day of live jazz!

Arun Ghosh is a British-Asian clarinettist, composer, music educator. Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, and matured in Manchester, Arun’s musical vocabulary and vision reflects his rich geographical heritage.

Off the Rails Big Band – Formed as a creative jazz orchestra in 1997 and back in that territory again through improvising under a bridge during lockdown. Playing good time music from Mulatu Astatke, Billy Jenkins and more.

Bess Shooter
Leeds based saxophonist/producer Bess Shooter explores the creative interaction between humans and machines. Her quartet combines jazz, folk, and electronics to create a unique, contemporary sound.

There’s no need to book a ticket – just turn up, find some space and have fun! Both indoor and outdoor stages have plenty of space in between tables so there’s room to breath and move.

Kanteena is wheelchair accessible, and there is a disabled loo as well. If you have any questions about accessibility and the venue, let us know – just reply to this email and we’ll get back to you.

There is parking nearby on Edward streeet and Lodge street – there’s more information about parking on the Lancaster City Council website.

Children are very welcome at this event until 11pm, as are well behaved dogs.
